Mackay Region Chamber of Commerce
The Mackay Region Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the Best in Business Awards on 29th August 2024. This event marked the return of business-specific awards after nearly fifteen years. Held at the Mackay Masonic Hall with red carpet arrivals at the Dispensary, the event attracted over 150 attendees and sold out two weeks in advance.
Keynote speaker Tom Potter, founder of the Eagle Boys franchise, captivated the crowd with his insights on guerrilla marketing and shared entertaining stories from his entrepreneurial journey.
With a significant number of nominees across seven categories, the awards reflected the strong support within the business community.
There was an overwhelming response to the return, suggesting our business community has an appetite to celebrate success. Our 2026 Awards have moved to a larger venue to allow for expansion, and we expect it to be even bigger and even better!
Since that inaugural event, we have reflected on what worked, what could be elevated, and how we could grow the awards into something even more impactful. With those lessons in hand, the 2026 Best in Business Awards promise to be bigger, bolder and even more memorable.
Scheduled to close Queensland Small Business Month, the 2026 Awards will move to a larger venue at the Mackay Turf Club, allowing us to welcome more of the business community to share in the celebration. The evening will again feature an exciting keynote speaker (details coming soon!), expanded opportunities for recognition, and the Chamber’s signature blend of professionalism, connection and community spirit… just on a grander scale.
Join us on 29 May 2026 as we celebrate the people, ideas and enterprises that make the Mackay region such a vibrant place to do business.
